BULLS ON A HIGH AFTER THARGO ENDS 24-YEAR HIATUS

THARGOMINDAH president Tammy Warner has heaped praise on her close-knit community after Thargo’s long-awaited return to the Rugby League field.
After a 24-year hiatus, Thargo returned to the paddock at Charleville last Saturday for the start of the Western Rugby League season.
For the Bulls, it was a baptism of fire, with Thargo crashing 26-0 to Charleville Comets No.2 side before losing 30-0 to the Comets’ No.1 side. Results aside, Warner says the Bulls could not be happier.
“I’m so proud of these boys. We’ve been through hell and back in the last 12 months in Thargo,” says Warner, who’s still living in a caravan with her family, almost 12 months after Mother Nature did its best to wipe Thargo off the map.
“We’ve got so many young people out there at the moment and this is something to keep ’em there. We didn’t have a win but to have ’em here, to see the team spirit, is unbelievable.”
The Bulls continue their comeback this Saturday (March 21) when the local footy is played at Cunnamulla.
