SEASON ON HOLD BUT QUILPIE GAMES CONFIRMED

THE Western Rugby League season is now on hold but the good news is that footy is coming back to Quilpie.
Despite the once-mighty Magpies being unable to field a side for the return of WRL this year, the town that gave us former Queensland Cup star Keiron Lander will host a round of local league next month.
That was confirmed after a meeting of WRL officials last night.
However, after back-to-back weekends of footy at Charleville and Cunnamulla, there will be no seniors action this coming weekend although the juniors will be taking the field at Augathella.
We’ll have more on local footy in Costo’s drive show today after the 3pm news.
