RIDERS from as far away as Hughenden are set to saddle up this weekend for the annual Augathella Diggers Campdraft.
According to Joe Duggan, president of the Augathella Diggers Campdraft Association, who spoke on Costo’s drive show yesterday, it promises to be an exciting weekend, featuring some of the most accomplished horsemen and horsewomen in the sport from across the South-West and even further afield.
“We got the happy hour at the bar Friday and Saturday night. We’ll have the Rugby League on the TV on Friday night as well and that calcutta for the shootout and the shootout run on the Saturday,” said Duggan, talking up the event, sanctioned by the Australian Campdrafting Association.
Duggan’s wife, Penny, an experienced competitor in the sport, is expected to be among the leading contenders in the ladies campdraft.
