MOTHER’S HEARTACHE: FIVE YEARS ON, STILL NO WORD ON MISSING MAN

THE family of a man who vanished in the Queensland Outback five years ago is calling for answers.

Jeremiah Rivers was last seen at a campsite near tiny Noccundra in the remote South West whilst on a trip with six other men.

In 2024, a Coroner found that Mr Rivers was deceased and likely met foul play.

This week, his mother, Joanne Rivers, spoke about the lack of closure for the family.

“Every day, every night, shaken and tears, thinking of my son, wondering what really happened and where could he be,” Mrs Rivers told the ABC.

“We don’t know the full story, me and my family. We all need answers and we want it now. It’s been five years now.”

As recently as last month, there was still a roadside sign, put up by police, 20 kilometres out of Noccundra, near the entrance to Nockatunga station.

The sign appealed to people to come forward with information as to the whereabouts of Mr Rivers.
