STATE OF ORIGIN LOYALTIES DIVIDE CHARLEVILLE FAMILY

A CHARLEVILLE family is bracing for another night of household mayhem as the State of Origin series decider edges closer.

Carmel Kavanagh-Mills is proudly a Queensland supporter, despite being born and bred in the Victorian city of Geelong, along with other family members.

However, one of them, adult son Cayne Houghton, unashamedly barracks for the enemy, NSW, thanks to his love for AFL club Carlton, aka the Blues.

Ms Kavanagh-Mills says once on Origin night, when the family was living up in the Northern Territory, it actually got a little out of hand.

“Jamie’s partner was yelling and screaming and someone called the police because they thought that someone was getting murdered,” she says.

Ms Kavanagh-Mills says everything would be fine, only for her son’s support for the Cockroaches. We even asked her if he needed a CT-scan!

“No, don’t think so, not yet. He might need one,” she candidly told Costo’s drive show audience this afternoon.

This year’s Origin series will be decided next Wednesday night (July 8) at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
