McPHEE RIDES “KINDRED SPIRIT” TO CAMPDRAFTING WIN

CHARLEVILLE’s Kylie McPhee is singing the praises of her “kindred spirit” after cleaning up at last weekend’s Warrego Campdraft.

Riding Denmark Victor, McPhee proved too classy in a hotly-contested field from far and wide in the open campdraft at the Charleville Showgrounds.

Speaking on Costo’s drive show on 4RR-FM yesterday afternoon, McPhee was quick to applaud her much-loved stallion.

“We seem to be kindred spirits. We click together very well,” says McPhee, whose husband Campbell is president of the Warrego Campdraft Association.

In fact, Denmark Victor is basically part of the family, according to the newly-crowned champion who had a bumper season last year.

“He’s a human-loving animal…my best friend. Our kids call him the favourite child,” she told listeners with a chuckle.

McPhee’s win on home soil came despite the presence of top riders from various parts of Australia including Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
