FORMER TOP BUREAUCRAT NAMED AS BALONNE COUNCIL’S NEW CEO

AFTER a comprehensive nationwide search, the Balonne Shire Council has revealed its new chief executive officer.

As reported in 4RR-FM’s News for Western Queensland this morning, former high ranking State bureaucrat Pauline Jacob got the job, based in St George.

Mrs Jacob has had more than 25 years experience in leadership roles across both the public and private sector.

It’s understood this will be her first gig as a council boss but she comes to the South-West with serious credentials, as a former Deputy Director-General with the State’s Department of Primary Industries.

The new CEO starts work on November 23.

She’ll take over from acting CEO David Burges, who finishes up the same week that Mrs Jacob takes charge, as part of transitional arrangements.
