SOUTH-WEST PREPARES FOR EASTER WEEKEND

CHARLEVILLE is set to rock over the Easter long weekend.

As we post this story, work is continuing at the town’s showgrounds where a stage has been erected for the Freedom Music Festival, starting at 3pm on Good Friday.

Festival director JL Rathbone says he’s excited to be back in Charleville. “We’ll be covering a few different genres,” he enthuses, before posing for a pic and flying visit to our Wills St studio for a LIVE ON-AIR chat with Costo in the drive show.

Elsewhere around the South-West, the Augathella Race Club is preparing for its traditional Easter Monday meeting.

Initially, because of the low number of nominations, there were concerns about the meeting but last we checked, 44 gallopers were set to hit the course for the five-race program.

Gates open at 11.30am.
