THE iconic Westlander passenger train has been involved in a railway accident on the Darling Downs on its way to Charleville.
In the early hours of this morning, the train was heading west when its baggage car was struck by a vehicle near Jondaryan, about midway between Toowoomba and Dalby.
We understand that no-one was injured in the accident.
According to Queensland Rail, the Westlander continued on its way to Dalby where passengers disembarked just before 6am and then continued their journey via bus.
That bus, as per our LOCAL NEWS this morning, is scheduled to arrive at Charleville at 3.30pm.
