FORMER sailor Emily Feldmeier is just hours away from her second Anzac Day in Charleville.
For Ms Feldmeier, who spent four years in the Royal Australian Navy, it’s a chance to catch up with mates in her adopted community whilst honouring those paid the ultimate sacrifice.
“I’m looking forward to it. This year, I’m actually part of the commemorations, looking after the Australian flag,” she says, standing proudly in front of Charleville’s war memorial in Town Hall Park after chatting with Costo in his drive show, speaking about the need for more support for veterans and her adventures on the high seas from the West Australian coast to iconic Pearl Harbour.
Charleville’s dawn service begins at 5am whilst the morning march starts outside Historic House in Alfred Street at 9.40am before the 10am service at the memorial.
