FORMER Queensland State of Origin hardman Kevin Campion is among the guests for this weekend’s edition of Costo’s World of Rugby League.
Campion, who began his career in Sarina, about 35 kilometres south of Mackay, talks about a range of subjects including controversial changes to State of Origin eligibility rules.
Campion’s big-time career encompassed the Gold Coast Seagulls, St George, Adelaide Rams, Brisbane Broncos, New Zealand Warriors and the North Queensland Cowboys.
Those 12 years at the top level resulted in four grand final appearances across three clubs and two premierships – that trophy success coming in the NRL with the Broncos in 1998 and 2000.
At representative level, the tough-as-teak Campion made four Origin appearances for the Maroons after representing Ireland at the 2000 World Cup.
In Sunday night’s show, you’ll also hear from foundation PNG Chiefs coach Willie Peters, who’s relocating to Port Moresby at the end of the season to join the NRL expansion side but now preparing his all-conquering Hull KR team for a Challenge Cup semi-final.
Others expected to join the program include London Broncos owner Grant Weschel, who will outline the club’s ambitions to rejoin Super League next season.
We’ll also go through weekend results in competitions far and wide including the NRL and the Queensland Cup plus from overseas, Super League and more.
Costo’s World of Rugby League is broadcast LIVE from the 4RR-FM studios every Sunday after the 6pm (AEST) news and is streamed around the world.
