SHOW ORGANISERS START PLANNING FOR 2027

ORGANISERS of the Charleville Show have already begun planning for next year’s event.

According to the Charleville and South West Queensland Show Society, last weekend’s two-day show was “the best in many years” as their attention is now turned to 2027.

Show Society president Daryl Kirkup says a hard-working band of volunteers such as stewards, judges and ground staff were deserving of high praise for their efforts.

“The Charleville Show is an annual event that brings our entire community together and, this year, was on display in the most amazing way,” Mr Kirkup says.

“To each and every person, young and old, who joined us to celebrate this wonderful yearly tradition, my sincerest thank you!”

Mr Kirkup says the highlight of this year’s show was the rodeo’s return, thanks to the Ahern family, after a 10-year hiatus.

“It was the best in many years,” he says, amid hopes of a new rodeo arena being built at the Charleville Showgrounds.
