KERNAGHAN’S JUNDAH GIG CALLED OFF DUE TO FLOODS

FLOODING has forced the postponement of Jundah’s Spirt of the Bush concert, featuring country music icon Lee Kernaghan.
The concert, planned for next week, was to have been one of three gigs for Kernaghan in as many days but Barcoo Shire Council have confirmed the Jundah event is now off, due to impacts to road access and concerns over logistics.
Barcoo Mayor Sally O’Neil said the decision was necessary as Council’s priority was the safety of residents and visitors.

“Our region is once again experiencing challenging conditions with flooding across parts of the Barcoo Shire,” Mayor O’Neil said after earlier reports that similar events in Quilpie and Thargomindah would also be postponed.

“While we were all looking forward to coming together this month, the safety of our community and visitors must come first. The good news is that the concert is not cancelled, it’s simply being moved so we can still celebrate together when conditions allow.”

The Thargo concert will be held on March 29, the day after Kernaghan performs at Quilpie.
