COOLADDI’S FOXTRAP ATTRACTS GLOBAL INTEREST

COOLADDI’s iconic Foxtrap Roadhouse, incorporating its own licensed premises, is up for sale and it’s generating enquiries from around the world.

According to owner Jo Cornel, whose voice you may heard today in Costo’s drive show, the decision to put the mixed business on the market has created significant interest.

“Well, it is time to go, yes. We’ve been here for over three years now. It’s time to give someone else a chance,” Ms Cornel told Costo from behind the counter at the post office, just a few steps from the public bar.

“We’ve had a lot of publicity. It’s just gone nuts…that phone has been running hot for about a week.”

Ms Cornel says for $400,000, plus enough coin to cover the cost of stock, you would pick up the pub, roadhouse, restaurant, motel, plus a private residence and cabin.

“You would own the town, yeah, How cool’s that?” she quips, flanked by her four-legged friend, Gypsy, who’s not part of the offering and nor is the licensed post office.

Needless to say, it’s not just prospective buyers who’ve made contact with the lady who calls the shots in this close-knit community, about 90 clicks west of Charleville and home to about 30 people.

“We’ve had international media attention,” she says, with an eye to the future. “In the long, short-term, I suppose you would say, I’m heading back to Brisbane and I’ll spend time with my grand-daughter.”
