KING CHARLES III SALUTES RAMBO, FORMER WARREGO MP

THE man they call ‘Rambo’ and the former long-serving Member for Warrego have been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours.

Charleville’s John Wallace, whose commitment to the State Emergency Service (SES) goes back to 1990, says he was shocked upon learning he would receive the Emergency Services Medal.

“Absolutely humbled and honoured. I never thought I’d ever end up with such an award,” Mr Wallace, aka Rambo, told 4RR-FM news after speaking LIVE on the drive show yesterday.

Former MP and one-time Natural Resources Minister Howard Hobbs, who represented Warrego in the Queensland Parliament for almost three decades, was also recognised.

Mr Hobbs was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for his service to the Parliament, from 1986 to 2015, and the community.
