FORMER Charleville schoolboy Lawson Alick is set to be recognised by the State’s Governor after being named in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours List.
Sergeant Alick CSM enlisted into the Royal Australian Air Force in 2013 as an Armament Technician. He has extensive experience working across the Hawk 127, F/A-18 Hornet and F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter across 79SQN, 81WG, 3SQN, 2OCU and 75SQN.
During his time within the F-35 program, Sgt Alick was awarded a Chief of Air Force Gold Commendation for his work on developing the maintenance policy for the new aircraft.
He has also spent time posted to ADF Careers, both assisting and assessing the next generation of the ADF workforce. For his work developing future systems at ADF Careers, Sgt Alick has been awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List.
The presentation of that medal could be made by Her Excellency, Dr Jeannette Young, as early as tomorrow at Government House.
St Alice was named alongside Charleville’s SES area controller John ‘Rambo’ Wallace, who was heard today on 4RR-FM’s Local News from 6am after being presented with his Emergency Services Medal (ESM) at a special ceremony in Brisbane yesterday.
